"Design is where innovation and usability colides."
Hi, I am Yilin Chen, also known as Eddy, a first-year graduate student at Northwestern Universitystudying Engineering Design Innovation. My background is in Information Science at the University of Washington focused on Human Computer Interaction. I am learning various skills such as service design, physical and digital product design.
With a strong foundation in user research, and many hands-on project experiences, I made every effort to combine all the knowledge and was thrilled to apply them to the real world, but where? I'd say design is where innovation and usability collide, and is where I belong to solve real-world problems.
As a designer, I touch both the rational and organic world. In the rational world, I apply all my knowledge in education, focusing on doing user research, design thinking, design system, and ethics... while in the organic world, everything is fresh and I keep hunting for new ideas, bringing innovations and diversity into the design.
I truely appreciate any moments in my life and cherish time with friends and my furry friend Riceball, whether it's going out for a day or having a BBQ together. I have always been drwan to the sleek design and impreessive speed of sports cars. This is what bond friends that share a common interest.
A bit more about myself, my advanture includes skiing down from Alpine, and nothing brings more enthusiasm than racing on the track with my car in the PNW area, enjoying the adrenaline rush. I enjoy both relaxing sports like golf and teamsports like basketball and soccer.
To escape the daily routine, I enjoy traveling to various destinations around the world. Some of my favorite destinations include the Olympic NP, the stunning Antelope Canyon, the awe-inspiring Thor's Well, and the vibrant local tribes in Ecuador. Each of these places offers unique experiences and memories that I treasure and help me to see the world.
